Its 10:27 am
I had just put up our fun review/preview of bad shark movies when the cheetah came in with with another package from Mill Creek Entertainment care of Noah and Barrett. It seems like they had been poking about the blog and discovered we like crazy Nature Amok movies but haven’t reviewed any in a long time. So they decided to fix that like they did with our lack of bad shark movies by shipping us another great value pack compilation of Nature Amok running well…..amok!
You have to hand it to Mill Creek for going this route,an affordable way to get a lot of fun in film collecter’s hands at a great price. Like I mentioned in our bad shark entry, each film by itself would run you about 10 bucks a pop and that includes Wal-Mart.
Here you can get four fairly recent films for about 11.50,a deal in anyone’s eye.
As with our shark write-up,the cheetah and I will share a few thoughts on each film and will be doing a proper review in the near future.
“Ghouls” (2007) “A college student returns with her father to his home country only to discover her family holds a dark secret that involves her.”
Uh,this sounds like and looks like more of a horror movie then a crazy end of the world story. But who CARES? Because this movie has Erin Gray of “Buck Rogers” fame in it and that is enough for us! Add in that this was shot in Romania and we’re on the first thing smokin’,ghouls or no ghouls!
“Chrome Angels” (2009) “After completing a string of high-profile robberies, a group of beautiful but deadly biker girls led by the fearless Lady (Stacey Dash) collide with a bar full of mysterious robots disguised as humans. The androids capture half of the biker gang to aid in their quest for world domination. As the girls fight for their freedom, they uncover a scheme more sinister than anyone could have imagined.”
Seriously,do I really have to write anything more? This may be the BEST girl motorcycle gang meets crazy androids (that’s artifical life forms for the millennials out that, not a cellphone) who are trying to take over the world movie EVER!! I think the cheetah is calling Subway for our snacks right now…..
“Judgement Day” aka “Quantum Apocalypse” (2010) – “A group of talented but rebellious ‘rock-star scientists’ find themselves in a race against time to save Earth when a comet makes an unexpected turn towards our blue planet where all life may cease to exist within days if our small town heroes fail to find a solution.”
Sounds right up our alley, doesn’t it? The only actor I know from this cast is Gigi Edgley who starred in the sci-fi cult favorite “Farscape”. Otherwise this will be an almost totally blind watch for us. I hope we make back alive and in One Piece (<—that was for my sister Rose)
“Tornado Warning” (2012) – “Aliens are lured to Earth by a strange signal and appear as destructive electromagnetic tornadoes. Brilliant high school student with her father and blogger involved in the study of tornadoes are struggling against time to prevent further disasters and disable the signal to make aliens leave the planet” (thanks to ryder1222)
This is easily the most star powered movie of the lot with a lot of names that even the casual viewer will know. Jeff Fahey,Terry Kiser and fanboy favorite Kari Wuhrer headline the cast in “Tornado Warning”. Sometimes having a well known cast for a low budget film works against it as the special effects are the first to suffer. So there is a trade-off in seeing a fanboy star in films like this and it doesn’t always work. But then again,Kari Wuhrer is in this badboy and that is all we care about!!!
So there you have it- if you are into crazy sci-fi and don’t have a large budget,”It Hit the Fan” is perfect film collection to get. Perfect for friends coming over and grabbing a couple of pizzas, some Dr. Pepper and having some good times.
The cheetah and I will be reviewing these films based on their own merit shortly.
In the meantime, you can buy this collection on the Amazon page of Mill Creek Entertainment here. This collection also includes a Digital version as well.
